Warwick University Athletics and Cross Country Club is one of the largest, most active, and most inclusive clubs at Warwick University. Being the only club at Warwick to be given a ‘gold’ in participation by Warwick Sport for the past two years, you can be sure that the Club has a place for you. Whether you are an elite athlete or someone who normally wouldn’t suffer to hear the word ‘running’, the Club’s accessible yet challenging training schedule will have something to suit you. Got a competitive itch that needs scratching? The Club competes in regional and national cross country leagues and athletics meets, including three BUCS championships. If you’re just looking to boost your fitness, on the other hand, the Club offers relaxed jogging sessions, as well as twice-weekly circuit training sessions.
However, WUAXC is so much more than just an athletics club. Boasting one of the most vibrant social scenes at Warwick, joining the Club is sure to make your university social life the best it can possibly be. Aside from attending the regular Student’s Union event, POP!, the Club hosts its own socials, including the ancient Pub Jog. At any rate, the Club’s large, diverse membership and sense of camaraderie means that you will quickly make friends for life.
Our mission statement is, “To create an environment and provide the facilities for all members to enjoy participation, embrace our culture and achieve self development.“
